Skye unfortunately, had been attacked not once, not twice... but three times by different dogs. Each time, she suffered bites to the back of her neck and spine, leaving her with long-term pain.
Skye's owners tried everything to get their young girl back to normal; however, Skye was on multiple different costly medications that subdued her, but never assisted the body in relieving the pain, inflammation, scar tissue, and tightness. Her owners explained Skye had so many medications that she had her own medical shelf - something that one day her owner decided couldn't be good for her long-term.
When I first met Skye, she was very fearful and was ROCK HARD from her trapezius muscle to her sacrocaudal muscle. She was so fearful that even on walks her owners explained that she wouldn't move unless one was infront of her and the other behind her (essentially blocking her / protecting her)
Skye came with not just physical limitations but also mental limitations from her trauma. I have had to work very slowly with Skye to earn her trust, even visiting her when I'm in the neighbourhood just to give her some treats. Slowly, Skye began to look forward to my visits, waiting and greeting me at the door, and allowing me to work further along her.
Skye is going to be a long-term client to be able to fully remove all the tightness and scar tissue present, but her owners have already noticed a huge improvement both mentally and physically.
Skye isn't as scared on walks now and has more confidence (not needing someone directly infront of her)
